Google Launches Recipes Markup Updates On Google Search
Google announced that it has updated its structured data documentation for recipes to help webmasters improve the visibility of their recipes on both Google Search and the Google Assistant, including Google Home devices.
Google said: “The updated properties of structured data give users more information about your recipe, which leads to higher quality traffic to your website.
If you want your recipes to work in the Google Assistant, Google needs ingredient properties and recipe instructions to use your markup. Adding these properties to your recipes activates the recipe guide, which takes the user step-by-step through the preparation of the recipe.
Additionally, Google now recommends the following properties of the recipe: Videos: Show users how to prepare the dish by adding a series of videos Category: Tell users the type of meal or course .
