February 2022 Google Webmaster Report

This month has been filled with a handful of unconfirmed Google search algorithm updates, as you’ll see in the bulleted list below. In fact, there may be a more subtle update going on, which I haven’t written about, but I’m on the edge of potential coverage, it was around February 1-2. We also found that many manual actions resolved the backlog. Additionally, we saw a slew of new news and found that manual stocks were delivered last week.

Google Search Console launched a new URL inspection API and a new desktop page experience  report last month. Additionally, the Search Console snapshot in  search results now works for domain properties. Google released a new robot meta  tag called indexifembedded.

We’ve learned more about when Google inferred top stories from web search, and we’ve seen some new data on that. Plus, we have lots of SEO stories, link stories, UI testing, local news and details, and much more. The ongoing WebmasterWorld thread again talks about some of the swings from the start of February 18th, as I said above.
